Adult Small Groups

"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching."   Hebrews 10:24-25 (NIV)

God intends for us to do life TOGETHER!  Register HERE.

Small Groups are available for adults for the purpose of friendship, fellowship and spiritual growth.  Groups come together around a common interest or a particular area of study and meet weekly for 6-8 weeks so no long-term commitment is required. New groups form quarterly and existing groups have the option to continue or members can seek out a new group to join. A DESCRIPTION OF CURRENT OFFERINGS CAN BE FOUND BELOW.

If you need additional information, or have an idea for or would like to host a new group, please contact Diane at

SUNDAY (10:10-10:50am) - beginning Sept. 16th

"How We Got Our Bible" (Room 103) - facilitated by Burl Self - Have you ever wondered how we got our Bible? Who put it together? Can we trust it? And how does any of this relate to our faith in Jesus? Join us each Sunday for an illuminating and inspirational look at the origins of God's Word.

"Proverbs" (Room 221a) - facilitated by Susan & Bill Cofer - Who is God and how does the Bible help us in our daily lives? Is the Bible really relevant? What difference is it going to make in the problems I'm facing? This study will help you see not only how scripture is relevant, but essential to your daily life and your relationship with God.

"Genesis(Parlor) - facilitated by Carol Wyrick - How was the world formed? How was God involved? And what difference does any of that make to our lives today? This study will be an in-depth look at the book of Genesis, the beginnings of God's relationship with us, and how all of that is more relevant to our spiritual lives today than ever before.

MONDAY - beginning Sept. 17th

"Moms' Bible Study" (3505 Downing Court) - Meets 7:30-9pm - facilitated by LeeAnn Robbins and Lyn Langman - You can't pour into your children when your own cup is empty, so join us to fill up your spiritual cup each week! Consider this a part of your self-care routine - like a pedicure for your faith or a workout for your spirit. This will be a night out with other moms to connect with each other and grow in faith together. We'll be using Pastor Brandon's Small Group Q's and related scripture, and we'll keep it simple - minimal prep or homework outside of the weekly meeting.  Come as you are - yoga pants, pajamas, messy bun, no makeup, straight from work...just come!

A relaxed atmosphere? An opportunity to make friends and grow in your relationship with God at the same time? Join us each Monday evening as we share a delicious meal and dive even deeper into the message of Sunday’s sermon using Pastor Brandon’s Small Group Q’s and related scripture.

TUESDAY (6:30-7:30pm) – beginning Sept. 18th

“Quilting 101” (LUMC Social Hall) – facilitated by Jane Amelon. Have you ever wanted to make a quilt for someone you love? Your child? Your grandchild? A friend? We’ll teach you how and help you every step along the way!

THURSDAY – beginning September 20th

“Empty Nest” (3308 St. Catherine’s Way) – Meets 7-8:30pm - facilitated by Susie Tucker – What do you do when your kids are grown up, but they’re still your kids? When parenting doesn’t end when they turn 18, but life takes a dramatic change? How do we pray for our adult children? What is our new role as a parent? Who am I now and who is this person I’m living with? How can I continue to maintain and strengthen my marriage during this new season? Join with others going through these same challenges and experiences that come with having an empty nest to see how God can not only sustain you through this period of your life, but bless you.

“For Men – Take the Field with Jesus and Be His Disciple” (Room 221a) – Meets 7:30-9pm – facilitated by Brian Fierro – How can I be a better father? A better husband? A better friend? Does the Bible really offer anything to help me with the challenges I’m facing? How do I connect with other guys and just make some friends in the church? This group is a great way to meet other men in the church and grow in your relationship with God. And it’s an hour out of the week where your wife will not only let you go hang out with the guys, she’ll push you out the door!
