The UMW's purpose is to be a community of women who strive to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ, to develop a creative supportive fellowship, and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

Membership is open to any woman who desires to belong.  Members are involved through prayer, giving, attending meetings, study, action and service.  Contact Diane Sterling through the church office (340-5682) for more information about women's activities.  You may also wish to visit the following websites:  General Board of Global Ministries (www.gbgm-umc.org), Church Women United (www.churchwomen.org), and Women's Division (www.umwmission.org).

COMMUNITY BIBLE STUDY

CBS is an interdenominational, international Bible study that meets at LUMC during the school year (Sept. thru May) on Thursdays from 9:30 to 11:30am.  The new session begins on September 16th and all women of LUMC and their friends are invited.  This year's study is the Book of Genesis.

CBS's mission is to make disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ through caring, in-depth Bible study available to all.  The morning activities include praise and worship, an opening devotional, small group discussion and a lecture by a trained Teaching Director.  There is a small fee to register but scholarships are available to all who need them.  If you have further questions or to register, please contact Lori Werth (lwerth@lumcvb.org) or call the church office (340-5682).
