Appalachia Service Project

Appalachia Service Project (ASP) is a Christian ministry, open to all people, that inspires hope and service through volunteer home repair in Central Appalachia.  Adult teams from LUMC have been supporting ASP's mission to make homes "warmer, safer and drier" for many years with spring and fall trips (and when the need arises at other times).

Most recently, a team of 12 went to the Appalachia Mountains for the annual Adult Mission Trip.  Everyone served at one location in Jonesville, VA.  Team members helped one homeowner by placing insulation on the outside of his home for additional warmth and then covering the home with vinyl siding.  The team reports, "A great time was had by all and we left knowing the overwhelming joy of making his home warmer, safer and drier."  Another three-day trip is scheduled for late November.
